I never thought about the history of Aztec print until I started writing this post. “The Aztec style originates from Mexico and was influenced by a long history of tribes. Traditionally, the art prints reflected the appreciation for insects, birds, fish and animals. 21st Century Aztec trends made their first appearance back in 2009 at the spring/summer catwalk show for Matthew Williamson” (info found on stylebistro.com). I love almost anything print because it allows you to make a statement without having to speak. Due to the colors on the skirt pictured, I chose to pair it with a light mint green top and color block heels. I chose a subtle way to pair the outfit so that the skirt was the focal point. This outfit can perfectly be worn to dinner or day party and can be dressed up with a blazer to be worn to social event.
